Allison Anderson holds a Master of Social Work (Clinical Specialization from the University of Calgary (2014), a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta (1991), and an Interim Certificate in Music from Grant MacEwan Community College (1984). Since 2013, she has received training in Intermodal Expressive Arts from the European Graduate School in Switzerland (Introduction to Expressive Arts, 2013), The Prairie Institute of Expressive Arts Therapy in Calgary (Level 1 Expressive Arts Therapy Certificate, 2014; Level 2 Expressive Arts Therapy Certificate, 2018; Certificate in Expressive Arts and the Treatment of Trauma, 2018; Safe Trauma Processing Through Expressive Arts Therapy Certificate, 2023), and the World Arts Organization in Edmonton (1:1 Mentoring and Group Training, 2014; 5-Month Group Facilitation in Expressive Arts Therapy with 5-Day Intensive, 2019-2020). Allison has also attended professional training courses in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, attachment, trauma, mindfulness, and internal family systems.
