Biography

Allison Anderson is a performing musician, coach, therapist, and insatiable creative soul. She is the owner and CEO of Anderson Arts & Well-Being Inc.

Allison has been involved in the arts since the age of six when she began taking piano lessons and voice lessons at seven. In elementary school, she became interested in theatre and cinema. These interests have followed her throughout her life in various forms. She continues to perform live at every opportunity. Mainly focused on music these days she is active in two bands, a duo, and solo performance.

Training and Education

Allison holds a Master of Social Work (Clinical Specialization) from the University of Calgary (2014), a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta (1991), and an Interim Certificate in Music from Grant MacEwan Community College (1984). Since 2013 she has trained in Intermodal Expressive Arts (EXA) at the European Graduate School in Switzerland, The Prairie Institute of Expressive Arts Therapy in Calgary, and the World Arts Organization in Edmonton. Trainings include Level 1 & 2 EXA Therapy certifications,  EXA 1:1 mentoring and group training, 5-month EXA group facilitation & 5-day intensive, introductory and advanced certificates in trauma processing using EXA. Allison has also completed professional trainings in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, attachment, trauma, mindfulness, and internal family systems (informed).

Formal education and training also include an Interim Certificate in Music from Grant MacEwan College, and a BA (Honours) in English and French Language and Literature from the University of Alberta. Allison has also studied Italian and other languages. She has a keen interest in online tech as it pertains to entrepreneurship. Allison also loves to read.
